A new, innovative PE fund is looking for and creative candidates to join the team. The fund was founded by a team with a 25-year track record of creating value as investors, entrepreneurs, and executive managers in the public and private market settings. The firm is focused on investing in transformational plays via equity carve-outs, spin-offs, and roll-ups in service companies as well as IT start-ups. Given the depth of the partners' operating experience, the firm works closely with its portfolio companies to grow their businesses and create value for investors. The fund is looking for a senior associate for its San Francisco and New York offices. Working alongside senior deal originators, you will be involved in all stages of the investment process. This will include assisting in identifying and executing acquisitions, deal structuring as well as determining and facilitating the most appropriate exit strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist associates in screening/analyzing potential opportunities to determine fit within the Fund’s investment objectives
  • Managing industry analysis for potential investments and monitoring industry developments/trends to gain a deep understanding of the challenges, risks and opportunities
  • Manage all aspects of due diligence and financing
  • Work closely with junior team members to build complex financial models (operational and valuation) and conducting other quantitative analysis of new investment opportunities
  • Prepare Investment Memoranda for Investment Committee prepared by associates
  • Assist junior team members in drafting regular update reports to GPs and LP
  • Work with portfolio companies on strategic initiatives, business development and budgeting

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong record of academic and professional success
  • 4-6 years of total experience in investment banking (bulge bracket or top tier boutique investment bank), venture capital, and or private equity experience with significant transactional experience
  • MBA form a top tier institution is highly preferred, but not required
  • Industry expertise in information technology preferred, but not required
  • Skilled at fundamental analysis
  • Superior financial modeling, analytical, deal structuring, and accounting skills
  • Ability to focus on the business impact and be inquisitive of the results of any analysis
  • Capable of quickly identifying and resolving escalating major issues
  • Prior experience compiling pitch books (comprising of business plans, investment memos, and financials models/forecasts)
  • Bachelor degree required
